I was devastated to find out that Beth passed away, because I loved her dearly. Since she took a year off in between her first and second year at Duke´s Fuqua School of Business, I didn´t meet her till my second year. We became fast friends immediately, and my then boyfriend and now husband often double-dated with her and Dan. She was an integral part of our "girl posse" that year. We kept up for the first few years after grad school, but lost touch over time. A mutual Fuqua friend whom I´d not seen in about 30 years just spent a few days with me in California and we looked over old photos from our glory days in business school. This is the picture I cherish, because it shows most of the "posse" in the bleachers at a Durham Bulls game. We were celebrating my 26th birthday (I'm in the Duke sweatshirt, my visiting friend is on my left.) I hate knowing that she is no longer with us. Much love to her daughters.

Dear Lauren and Lindsay and Beth's family,
I remember meeting Beth when our very young children were taking a music class beating drums and marching with the teacher. I immediately liked her and we struck up a friendship. I am so very sorry to learn of this. Thanks to the Sawyers and all who have stood in the large gap that this loss creates. May you all be comforted and may Beth have now the joy she had in her heart to give.
