Theola was not only my mother she was my bestfriend. The relationship she and i shared was rare for a mother and daughter but i wouldn't trade it for the world. It will be a hard road ahead but the one thing she passed to me was her strengh and her trust in God and he hasn't failed me yet, and never will. She always said she just wanted to be the gate keeper when she got to heaven, so when you get to the gate look out for her. Untill then remember the good times, if you knew her you had a good time with her. Words can't express how much i miss her but i know she will always be in my heart

To LaMont and Tisha:
You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you will cherish those pictures I had of you as babies....you deserve them, especially since I stole them from Kim Whitley. You have grown into fine young people. Stay encouraged to be the strong, respectful and productive individuals God and your mom would have you to be. Remember: Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. You can do all things through Christ which stregthens you! (signed, your grandmother's crazy neighbor in Detroit...smile)

Lamont, Tish and Family,

It is hard to find the words to express how much we loved Theola here at the Geological Survey (U.K.). She was a constant source of encouragment and humor around here, and we will miss her deeply. I personally enjoyed trading stories with her about you and my 2 kids (they are about the same ages as you). And it was great having you guys stop by every now and then. Please continue to come by and let us know how you're doing.

We may never know why God called her home so early in life, but I'm sure He had a reason. I believe that we will see her again someday when we ourselves are called home. We will keep you all in our prayers - let us know if we can help in any way.

May the Lord keep you in His care during this time of grief and loss.

Although it's hard to understand just why these things must be, still may you find some comfort in these words of sympathy and in the thought that memories of the things Theola did and said will keep her close to you through all the days ahead. May God's love be strong enough to carry your sorrow, gently enough to heal your pain and bring you peace. Know that each and everyone of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you all.

Charles, Katisha - I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. She was an amazing person and a dear friend of mine. We worked together for many years at UK and she always had a knack of making me laugh. She was so proud of you both. There was never a day that passed that I didn't hear her tell a story about you two. She will be missed and I am grateful that she touched my life!
