Timothy Schuler Obituary

Timothy E. Schuler of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at UK Chandler Hospital in Lexington after a long illness. Born on June 19, 1961, in Louisville, he was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Sara Schuler. Though Louisville was his birthplace, Lexington was his home, where he spent his entire adult life and built deep, meaningful connections.

Tim attended Holy Spirit School and Trinity High School in Louisville. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Kentucky, which was the foundation for his banking career in Lexington.

Tim was a Senior Vice President of Lending at Traditional Bank, where he had been employed for 15 years. He previously held lending positions at various Lexington banks. Throughout his career, Tim built lasting relationships by taking the time to understand each client's goals and challenges. He was respected not only for his professional expertise, but also for his patience and willingness to go the extra mile. Many clients and colleagues credit him with playing an important role in their personal and business success. To him, clients were never just clients, many became lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.

Tim served as the chair of the board of directors for CASA, the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Lexington, and was previously a board member of God's Pantry Food Bank in Lexington. Tim was passionate about his golf game and loved to root for his beloved Kentucky Wildcats. He was a devoted member of Crossroads Church in Lexington, where he found community and spiritual growth.

Tim is survived by his sisters Laura, Alice, and Suzanne, and his brothers Bill and Mike. In addition, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins will remember him with deep affection.

A commemoration gathering will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Clerestory at Greyline in Lexington, KY. Tim's interment will be scheduled at a later date at Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville, KY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CASA, the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Lexington, or God's Pantry Food Bank in Lexington.

I will always remember Tim as a super friendly and warm individual. I met him when he was a Board Member of God's Pantry Food Bank (where I work). He seemed to always wear a smile on his face and brought smiles to those around him. I am sad to hear of Tim's passing, but he is out of pain and the angels have gained a special new angel. May memories bring comfort to his family and close friends.

Clyde Mauldin, at Bank of Lexington, introduced me to Tim Schuler in the mid eighties. Tim has been my loan officer ever since. Whenever I was in his office, he made me feel like I was his best client.
I'll miss you, Tim...

Dear Schuler Family,
I was so very sorry to learn about Tim's death -- you've lost a dear brother, and so many have lost a good friend. Tim and I crossed paths at Centenary United Methodist Church in the 80s and 90s. We were in the same Sunday school (single adult group), and a smaller group of us all traveled to Hilton Head for vacation one time. So many adventures -- Tim would get us involved in serving food and drinks at the Foster Brooks Golf Tournament in Louisville -- all our money would go toward missions at church. So much laughter over the years. Tim was a good man. You'll be in my prayers during this tender time.
Sincerely,
Ellen Marmon

Tim was a great friend from grade school at Holy Spirit to high school at Trinity and through college at UK and after. Have a lot of memories of great times. Holy Spirit basketball. Poker games. Lambda Chi Alpha. He will be sorely missed.
