Lexington, Kentucky - 103 , passed away on May 2, 2021 at Central Baptist Hospital. She was born in Paris, Ky (Brentsville) to the late John Andy and Ottie Belle Roberts. She was preceded in death by two sons , John Tom and Russell Dickerson. Mother of Ella Jean (K.T.) Smith, She has seven grandchildren, Russell Jack, John Jr., Michael Lee (Monica), Vanessa ,Michael T. & Francine Dickerson as well as LaMont (Brenda) Smith. Also, four great grandchildren: Aaron, Mason, Xavier and Gabby. She is also sur- vived by two daughter-in-laws, Mary and Nancy Dickerson who has been in her life for years., Host of relatives & friends and especially her sitter, Sharnel Waide and Ms. Harriet McVey.
She was a member of Historic St. Paul A.M.E, Lexington, Ky where she served as an usher, stewardess, deaconess, class leader, missionary, willing workers club, Women's Bible Study and Secretary of Sunday School until she became incapacitated. She loved her church and was there whenever the doors were open. She was very much loved by her friends and family. She adored her neighborhood and was active in the neighborhood association. Cooking was also a passion of hers and she spent time passing out goodies that she had made to others in the neighborhood and church. Her celebration of life is scheduled for Thurs. May 13th at 11am -1pm for the visitation and 1pm for the funeral service. All services will be at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 251 N. Upper St. Arrangements handled by Hawkins-Taylor Funeral Home
