Ronald E. Prodell
Algoma - Ronald E. Prodell, 76, passed away peacefully at Green Bay Health Services on April 20, 2021. He was born on May 12, 1944 to the late Elmer and Ruth (Kudick) Prodell. On May 22, 1965 he married Eleanora Fay Hanmann of Casco at St. John's Lutheran Church, Luxemburg, WI. He graduated from Casco High School in 1962. He worked for Rio Creek Cheese Co-op picking up Milk Cans and hauled cheese to Schreiber's in Green Bay during the day. And, at nights he worked at Kewaunee Engineering. He joined the Wisconsin National Guard in September of 1964 and served until 1970 where he achieved the rank of Specialist. Ron and Fay farmed in the Rio Creek area from 1965-2011. He attended NWTC agricultural classes and later was on the advisory council at NWTC. He served on the PCA Farm Credit Advisory Council, Rio Creek Cheese Co-op Board of Directors, and Community State Bank Board for 20 years. He served his church as elder for 12 years. He was an adult leader 4-H President and 4-H Leader. After the barn fire in 1996, he worked for IGF Insurance Company and Rio Creek Feed Mill as a Certified Crop Consultant. In 1979 he was honored as Outstanding Young Farmer and in 1980 Ron and his wife Fay won Outstanding State Farm Couple.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 55+ years Fay (Hanmann); children, Michelle Phillip, Shawn (Jenny) Prodell; grandchildren, Morgan (fiancé Nathan Koffke), step-grandson Eric Schwister (special friend Katie and her daughter Kinsley), Marie Prodell, and Dillon Prodell; step-great-grandson Easton Schwister; brother, Sheldon (Shirley) Prodell; sisters, Marilyn Ihlenfeldt and Lila (Larry) Schlorf; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Gail) Hanmann, Eileen Hanmann, Wayne (special friend Pat) Pavlat; as well as by many nieces and nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Ruth (Kudick) Prodell; son-in-law John Phillip; sister, Janice (Ron) Smith; in-laws Walter Sr. & Eleanora Hanmann; Lois (Edward) Koss, Bruder (Walter Jr.) Hanmann, and Anna May Pavlat; as well as by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at St. John's Lutheran Church - Luxemburg on Friday, April 23 from 4:00-7:30 pm, with a prayer service taking place at 7:30. Visitation will continue on Saturday April 24 from 9:00-11:00 am at the church. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am with Pastor Carl Brewer officiating. Burial to follow in the St. John's Cemetery - Luxemburg with full military rites. Due to COVID-19, social distancing will be practiced, and facemasks are required to be worn.
