1984 - 2025 / 2014 - 2025
Two beautiful souls, Jacob John Harnett, 41, and his son, Carter John Harnett, 11, of Key West, Florida, passed away together on October 5, 2025, in Williston, Florida, after a tragic plane accident. They were returning from one of their favorite adventures - a hunting trip - on their way to pick up Jake's life partner, Tiffanie and their daughter, Faith.
Originally from Blue Hill, Maine, Jake carried the spirit of the coast in his heart - a deep love for the sea, the wild, and the simple beauty of life outdoors. His path led him to St. Croix, where he met the love of his life, Tiffanie. The connection they shared was instant and enduring, inspiring the name of his Key West fishing charter, Deepend Charters, after the restaurant where their story first began.
Jake was the heart of his family and community - a man whose big smile and contagious laugh could light up any room. Whether out on the ocean or sharing a moment with friends, he made everyone feel seen, valued and loved.
Carter was his father's shadow and his family's shining light - full of curiosity, kindness, and courage. He adored fishing with his dad, loved making people laugh and was known around town for his adventurous spirit and his favorite pastime - catching iguanas. His playful energy and fearless heart brought endless joy to everyone who knew him.
Together, Jake and Carter shared an unbreakable bond - a love rooted in laughter, adventure and the great outdoors. They lived life with wide-open hearts, sharing hugs with everyone who they crossed paths with and left behind a legacy of love that will never fade.
They are survived by Jake's loving mother, Elise, his life partner Tiffanie and their precious 2 year old daughter Faith, who will forever feel their love surrounding her.
A celebration of their lives will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Stock Island Yacht Club in Key West, Florida. Family and friends are invited to share stories, laughter, and love as we honor two extraordinary souls who now rest together in eternal peace.
