Stanislaw Key West - Czerniewski Czerniewski Stanislaw "Stan" Czerniewski, 75, passed away on July 29, 2024 after bravely facing early onset of Alzheimer's disease that eventually took his life.
Stan Czerniewski was born on August 18,1948 to Antoni and Janina Czerniewski in Malbork, Poland. Stan served in the military, obtained a college degree in Economics, taught high school geography, and was active in many business endeavors while residing in Poland, making sure his family had all the best of Western Society. When the Soviet Union fell, he decided to uproot his family for better opportunities and moved to
Key West, Florida in 1994 where he has lived ever since, except for a brief time in Orlando where he started a Polish deli but moved back to Key West to be closer to his expanding family.
Stan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Apolonia Czerniewska, son Mark (Gabriela) Czerniewski, daughter's Paulina (Bart) Smith and Justyna (Nick) Lambert, and his two grandchildren Ryder and Scarlet Smith.
Stan was a remarkable person, husband, father, and grandfather who loved his grandkids more than anything. If he wasn't playing with them, he was fishing. Stan could spend hours fishing with his grandson and arguing that one or the other doesn't know what they are doing or how to catch fish. He was a devoted spouse/parent/sibling/friend always putting the needs of his loved ones first. Their home was always open, a place of laughter and love with always a cold beer for those that wanted one no matter what time of the day.
In coping with Alzheimer's, Stan taught his family invaluable lessons. He showed us the importance of living in the moment, of cherishing the here and now. He reminded us that our connections with others are not just built on shared memories but on the feelings and experiences that bind us together. Stan's journey with Alzheimer's also highlighted the incredible power of love and patience, teaching us to find joy in the simplest of interactions. He will be missed dearly.
