Donald Ray Carroll

Donald Ray Carroll February 19, 1937 – October 18, 2025 Longtime Lebanon resident Donald Ray Carroll, 88, passed away on October 18, 2025. Donnie was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, on February 19, 1937. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1955 and went on to earn a degree from Oregon College of Education. A devoted husband to Darlene for 68 years, Donnie built a life centered on family, teaching, and community. He began his career in education and coaching in Scio, Oregon, before moving to Seven Oaks Junior High, where he started the football program. He later joined Lebanon High School as a teacher and went on to serve in several administrative roles, including Vocational Director and Athletic Director. Donnie was best known as a dedicated coach for both football and wrestling, and for building one of the strongest vocational programs in the state. In 2022, he was honored with induction into the Bud and Dorothy Page Lebanon High School Hall of Fame, a recognition of his lasting contributions to education, athletics, and the community. Donnie never knew a stranger and was always the first to approach others with kindness and warmth. He had a lifelong passion for mentoring young people and helping them find their strengths both on and off the field. He loved elk hunting, fishing, and just about any sport. Donnie will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose warmth, humor, and compassion Left a lasting mark on all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; children Craig (Jana), Cindi (Joel), and Cory (Leslie); grandchildren Scott (Devin), Alexa (William), Bradley (Michelle), Lauren (Josh), Sarah (Robert), and Hannah; and great-grandchildren Olivia, Emerson, Mara, Harper, and Hallie. A private family service will be held to honor Donnie's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lebanon High School Heath Stadium Fund in memory of Donnie Carroll.
