Jace Wohlfiel Obituary
Jace Scott Wohlfiel, age 27, of Mantorville MN, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 26, 2025. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and everyone lucky enough to have known him. Jace is survived by his loving parents, Leroy and Erika Wohlfiel of Mantorville, MN; his siblings Taryn and Drew (Katie) Wohlfiel; and his three beloved nephews; Leo, Daxton, and Oden Wohlfiel who absolutely adored him. Jace was born May 28, 1998, he graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School on June 12, 2016. After graduation, Jace enrolled in the welding program at Rochester Community and Technical College and graduated in December 16, 2016. That hands-on education led Jace to join the Plumber/Pipefitter's Local #6 Union in 2017, where he completed his apprenticeship in 2022. Jace quickly discovered a passion for commercial plumbing (he proudly refused to take on residential side jobs). One of the youngest ever accepted into the union, he brought both skill and spirit to every job. Through his work with Harris Company, Jace built a successful career and earned a reputation as a team builder. He had a natural ability to bring people together: bringing treats, ordering surprise pizzas, and lightening the mood with spontaneous jokes or Snapchats that his friends always looked forward to. Family was everything to Jace. His happiest moments came during family gatherings, which thanks to Jace, often turned into full-on competitive games. His competitiveness, infectious energy, laughter, and mischief made him the life of every get-together. But Jace's most cherished title was "Crazy Uncle Jace". He brought out the wild side of his nephews and delighted in spoiling them with the coolest toys, often to the eye-rolls (and laughter) of their family. He had a gift for picking out the "fastest and flashiest" kicks, and soon, the boys decided that only Uncle Jace was allowed to buy their shoes. Whether it was T-ball, basketball, soccer, or just backyard chaos, Jace never missed a chance to show up. Jace taught the boys important life skills like how to do a burnout and play Mario Cart, but most importantly, that no matter your age, there is always enough time to stop what you are doing and play. Jace had many passions, which he approached with creativity and intensity. From a childhood love of Legos (which only got more elaborate with time) to designing custom shoes, collecting and shooting firearms, and building his own gaming systems. These hobbies also introduced him to a wide circle of friends who brought great joy and meaning into his life. Jace was loyal, deeply compassionate, and unapologetically opinionated. He loved with his whole heart, felt things deeply, and gave more of himself than most people ever knew. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and everyone lucky enough to have known him. Jace, we love you always and forever!
