Roger Skogen Obituary

Roger Clark Skogen, 88, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, after a brief illness. Roger was born on July 26, 1937, in Rochester, MN to Rudie and Gertrude Skogen. He graduated from Rochester Senior High School in 1955. After high school, he joined the Airforce for four years. He received his 2-year degree from Rochester Community College and a four-year degree from the University of Minnesota for civil engineering. After school, he went to work for the Minnesota Department of Transportation and continued to work there for 42 years. He retired in 1993. Roger enjoyed walking in the woods, building things, watching movies, reading books, spending time with his family/friends, traveling around the United States and going to his cabin in Northern Minnesota. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer and son-in-law, Mike and his granddaughters, Sarah and Morgan. His brother and sister-in-law, Gary, and Vickie, along with his two nephews Paul, Chris, and niece, Jessie. He was proceeded in death by his parents, infant brother, and great aunt. The funeral service will be at 11am on Tuesday, July 8 th , 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Foster officiating. The burial will be at West St Olaf Church.
