Sharon L Allen Dison died on May 7, 2025, in Rochester, MN at the age of 84. She was born on January 28, 1941, to Hilary P. Allen and Laura Bunge Allen. She spent her childhood in Caledonia, MN and grew up on her parents' dairy farm, where they milked, bottled, and delivered dairy products to all of Caledonia. Allen Dairy produced the best chocolate milk! Horse riding and showing cattle were big past times during her early years. She once took home a State Grand championship title. Sharon attended school in Caledonia and graduated from Loretto High in 1959. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Minnesota, Winona, and was a member of the Phi Delta Epsilon Fraternity. Following graduation, she spent two years teaching in the Elgin, IL public school system. In 1965, Sharon married Gordon Huseby, they were later divorced. That same year she moved to California. During the years that followed, she taught in several California schools while also working on her post graduate degree. Here she attended many of the California Universities. She began earning her administration credentials from UC Berkley at a time when women administrators were rare or nonexistent. During the late 60s Sharon was hired to design and implement an experimental school centered around a team teaching and open space concept. He also taught adult classes at UCLA and was consulting editor on several Social Science Textbooks used in the California system. In later years Sharon returned to Minnesota to help with family issues. During this time, she launched a second career in the hospitality industry, first in food and beverage and then moved on to hotel management. She served on the Rochester Lodging Board for a time. She reluctantly retired in 2012. In 1999, she married Lauren Dison. They divided their retirement years between their homes in Minnesota and California. Her interests include reading, golf, gardening, cooking, bridge, and pickleball. She is survived by brothers, Thomas and Michael (Mary) Allen; sister, Joan (Joe) Deufel; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
