George Powell Obituary

KINSTON - George Mayo Powell, 74, of 710-B Doctor's Drive, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at Harmony Hall Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at White Rock United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Maruice Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in Southview Cemetery in Kinston. He is survived by his wife Portia Nicholson Powell of the home; sons Geno L. Powell of Cary and Dewayne Nicholson of Durham; sisters Doris Powell of Kinston and Ruby Davis of Pennsylvania; and brother Jasper Powell of Kinston. Viewing will be held Friday, Nov. 11 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Albritton-Carraway Funeral Home. Sign the guestbook at kinston.com.
