Herbert Lee

LA GRANGE | Herbert Lee, 91, of La Grange passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Born in Lenoir County, he was the son of the late Calvin "S.C." and Harriett Aman Lee. Mr. Lee joined the U.S. Army in 1943 and received an Honorable Discharge on November 4, 1945, with Good Conduct Medal; American Medal with four bronze stars and a Purple Heart. He recovered from injuries in France during 1944. He later worked as a Boiler Technician with the City of Kinston. Survivors include his nieces, Sharon Lee King of Pink Hill, Harriet S. Rouse of Kinston, Vickie S. Jackson of Sophia, N.C., and Jo S. Martin of Bluffton, S.C.; nephews, Randy Lee of Ayden and Charles L. Sumrell of Lake Placid Fla.; 11 great-nieces and nephews; 17 great-great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America, P. O.
