Kendrick Darrell "Ken" Sutton Sr.

LAGRANGE - Kendrick Darrell "Ken" Sutton, Sr., 67, of LaGrange, went to his Heavenly Home on February 14, 2009 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Ken was born on August 8, 1941 to the late Felix Lionel Sutton of LaGrange and Laura Ellen Vaughn Sutton Gaskins of San Diego, California, formerly of LaGrange. He was the adopted son of Noah Norwood Sutton and Ethel Vaughn Sutton of LaGrange. Ken was the retired owner of The Men's Den/Sutton Shoes and Sutton's Safety Shoes and was a member of the LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his family, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, card games and working in his yard and in his work shop. Most of all he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was looking forward to seeing Him face to face. A memorial service will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. from the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange, with the Rev. Ronnie Hobbgood and the Rev. Brad Williamson officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Fair-view Cemetery, LaGrange. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Faye Sugg Sutton, two sons, Kendrick Darrell Sutton, Jr. and Kim, and Marcus Lionel Sutton and Lisa, all of La-Grange; three grandchildren, Derek Sutton of Kinston, Savannah Sutton and Elizabeth Sut-ton of LaGrange; a half-sister, Patricia Gaskins of Escondido, California and a half brother, Hugh Gaskins of San Diego, California; special friends, Phyllis Harrison and Jake Suggs, and the best neighbors and friends, Clarence and Molly Philyaw, all of LaGrange. Ken was preceded in death by a special friend of 57 years, David Harrison on December 4, 2008. The family will receive friends on Monday immediately following the memorial service at Rouse Funeral Home and other times at the home.
