MARGARET LUORA HILT Pratt - Margaret Luora Hilt, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Parkwood Village in Pratt. She was born October 25, 1938 at Pratt County Hospital to Arthur E. and Murle L. (Hollopeter) Jones. She graduated from Pratt High School in 1956 and Pratt Junior College in 1958. On October 12, 1958, she married Charles Ivan Hilt in Arlington, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2018. They began their married life in Colorado and Nebraska, returning to Pratt in 1959. She was a homemaker and mother to two children, Mark Alan and Patricia Sue. She began working at the Pratt Public Library, then Pratt High School, concluding her career by retiring from Pratt Community College. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and serving on multiple committees. She was a member of the Glendale EHU, the Glendale Mothers Club and was active as a 4-H leader with the Glendale Reapers 4-H club. She was a long time Hospital Auxiliary member at Pratt Regional Medical Center. She was an avid sewer and quilter, frequently assisting with the quilt exhibits at the Pratt County Fair. She survived by her son, Mark and his partner Patrick Scott of Los Angeles, California; daughter, Patricia and Steve Grimm of Lee's Summit, Missouri; and one grandson, Taylor of Independence, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters, Carolyn and Sharon. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, at First United Methodist Church in Pratt, with John Hamm presiding. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Wakon Fowler, Sharon Will, Kelli Denney and the entire Parkwood Village staff for their love and care over the last four years. In her last month of life, the ICU nurses at PRMC and Interim Hospice provided invaluable support.
