Judith Scheurer Obituary
home in Deland, Florida on September 23, 2025.
Judy is survived by three sons Steve Scheurer (Becky) of Deland, Florida, Scott Scheurer of Valkaria,
Florida, and Rob Scheurer (Susan) of Kirksville, Missouri, 9 grandchildren Jared Scheurer, Brian Scheurer,
Erica Matias, Stephanie Redfern, Michelle Scheurer, Mallory Scheurer, Cody Scheurer , Amber Copija,
and Chelsea Ginn, 10 great-grandchildren Solah Scheurer, Kialea Matias, Izabella Matias, Roxie Castillo,
Savannah Redfern, Sadie Redfern, Sawyer Redfern. Eli Scheurer, Ja'kai Scheurer, and Joby Scheurer, and
numerous cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry "Mike" and
Wilma "Billie" Fast Smith, her son David Scheurer of Kirksville, Missouri, and her former spouse Donald
Scheurer of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Judy lived a life filled with creativity and a deep appreciation of the
world around her.
Some of Judy's many passions included raising, riding, and training horses, painting, playing music and
singing with friends, reading, sewing, watching her favorite movies repeatedly, and cooking. Whether in
the kitchen preparing meals, in the barn working with her horses, or at her easel painting with oils, she
found joy in creating and sharing her talents with others. Friends and family will miss enjoying her
elaborate dinners, especially her chocolate torte and Caesar salad, as well as riding her life-size,
homemade rocking horses. She was known for her warmth and strong spirit, qualities that touched all
who knew her.
Family and friends are welcome to gather to remember Judy and share stories at her former home on
the farm on Hwy T in Kirksville on November 1, 2025 @ 2 PM. In remembrance of Judy, please take
some time to indulge your own creativity.
