Paul Parsons Obituary

Paul William Parsons, age 92, of Edina, MO passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the LaBelle Manor in LaBelle, MO. He was born in Newark, MO on April 21, 1932, the son of William Everett and Ethel Pauline Hall Parsons. He was united in marriage to Patsy Jo Jones on July 16, 1955 in Shelbyville, MO.
Surviving are his wife Patsy Parsons of Edina, MO, three daughters, Paula (Robert) Lenhart of Missouri City, TX, Rhonda (Lester) Rogers of New Braunfels, TX and Anita (Shannon) Dixson of Columbia, MO, three grandchildren, Robyn Rogers of Houston, TX, Adam Fulton and his significant other Erika Fleming of DeSoto, MO, and Alison Fulton of Columbia, MO, three great grandchildren, Adalyn Fulton and Reed Fulton of Hillsboro, MO, and Malakiyah Haller of Houston, TX, two brothers-in-law Terry (Cathy) Jones of Shelbyville, MO and Jerry (Nancy) Jones of Flowery Branch Georgia and sister-in-law Ruth Jones of Kirksville, MO and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Everett Grant Parsons, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, two brothers-in-law, J.W. Jones and John Jones and a sister-in-law Grace Parsons.
Paul received his education in Newark Schools and graduated from Edina High School. Paul served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. During his service he received the Army Occupation Medal (Japan), Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, UN Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He served in the 521st Military Police Service Company Tech. He was engaged in farming his entire life in Knox County. Paul sold insurance, seed corn and soybeans, a crop insurance adjuster, owned and operated the Knox County Lanes bowling alley in Edina, served as Knox County Commissioner and was a member of the Edina Masonic Lodge # 291 A.F. & A.M. and received his 50-year pin in Nov. 28, 2011, a member of the Scottish Rite, and was a Shriner and had participated with the Shriner Clowns. Paul was active member of the Plevna Christian Church.
Services will be held Sunday, September 1, 2024, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Visitation will begin Sunday at 1 p.m. and Masonic Rites will be held at 2 p.m. and funeral services will follow.
Officiating the services will be Reverend Nancy Douglas. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO.
Casket bearers will be Scott Arndt, Ruey Douglas, David Parsons, Billy Hunter, Billy Early, Steve Cahalan. Honorary bearer will be Winford Vaughn.
Memorials are suggested to the Plevna Christian Church or Knox County V.F.W. Memorial Post # 4822. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, Mo 63537
