Alberta Pangle Obituary

PANGLE, ALBERTA M. - age 87 of Loudon passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Fort Loudoun Medical Center. Mrs. Pangle was of the Catholic faith. She served as a kindergarten teacher for 16 years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and as an employee of EDS in Charlotte, North Carolina, for 12 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Victor C. Pangle; parents, Fletcher and Agnes Morgan; sisters, Lucille Blevins, Juanita Hudson, and Anna Bernice Laub; brothers, F.R Morgan Jr., Martin Morgan, and Johnny Morgan. She is survived by her children, son, Clayton and wife Sue Pangle of Loudon; daughter, Beverly and husband Randy Scott of Memphis; son, Gary R. Pangle of Hilo, Hawaii; and daughter, Mary Russell of Loudon; grandchildren, Clay Pangle of Loudon, Aimee (Robert) Massey of Memphis, Patricia (Eddie) Jones of Sweetwater, Jessica Scott of Memphis, Chris (Angie) Carr of Loudon, Jackie Russell of Loudon, Phillip (Melinda) Carr of Knoxville, Morgan Scott of New York City, Sarah Russell of Loudon, Justin Pangle and Roger Pangle both of Knoxville, Jimmy Russell of Loudon, and Elizabeth Pangle of Loudon; four great-grandchildren, Connor Carr, Lauren Massey, Danielle Jones, and Lindsey Massey; sisters, Minnie Hooker, Virginia Gibbs, Gertrude Lemon, Agnes Hayes, Barbara and husband Lee Napoleon; sister-in-law, Virginia Morgan; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other extended family members. Mrs. Pangle loved people of all ages and always had a sweet, happy disposition. Although bed bound the last five years of her life, she continued to have a zest for living. She was especially thankful for the many kindnesses and care she received from family, friends, and caregivers. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Chattanooga, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:30 AM prior to the service. Father Michael Nolan will officiate. Family and friends will proceed to Mount Olivet Cemetery for interment. Serving as pallbearers, Clay Pangle, Eddie Jones, Robert Massey, Chris Carr, Phillip Carr, Roger Pangle, Justin Pangle, and Jimmy Russell. The family will receive friends 5:30 - 7:30 PM Friday at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon. A prayer service will follow with Dr. Tony Collins officiating. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Pangle may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1580 St Thomas Way, Lenoir City, TN 37772 or to United Way of Loudon County, P.O. Box 145, Lenoir City, TN 37771. Arrangements by McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon.
