Alma Tauxe Obituary

TAUXE, ALMA MCPHERSON - suffered a stroke and passed away on September 17, 2008 in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born on April 18, 1927 in Knoxville, where she spent all but her last five years as a devoted wife and mother. Outside of her home and family, her principle interest was travel. Her volunteer activities included Dulin Gallery of Art, Knoxville Medical Auxiliary and March of Dimes. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. All who knew her, remember her as friendly and vivacious. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward L. Tauxe, MD, who practiced medicine in Knoxville but is currently residing in Tallahassee; her children E. Lindsey Tauxe of Birmingham and daughter Vicki K. Tauxe of Tallahassee, and five grandchildren: Patrick Kaelin Tauxe, Michael Keenan Tauxe, Hali Tauxe-Stewart, Zeke Bynum Tauxe and Sadie Elizabeth Tauxe. Her final arrangements were coordinated by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. A memorial service was held in Tallahassee on September 20. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Fl or Habitat for Humanity.
