Andrew McClain Obituary

MCCLAIN, ANDREW MELVIN "A.M." - age 84 of Powell, passed away May 3, 2008 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, past Chairman of the Deacons and Sunday School Teacher. He was a devout Christian, devoted father, grandfather and great- grandfather. He was an Army Air Force Veteran of WWII. Preceded in death by wife, Twila McClain; son, Darrell McClain; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Janice McClain; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Mike Meridieth and Vickie and George Dickenson; grandchildren, Michael, Andy, Jason, Alison and Kristie; great-grandchildren, Caden, Cole and Libbie; sister, Helen Bailey; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday at Ridgeview Baptist Church with the service to follow at 8 pm. Reverends Maston Jackson and Dean Braden officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Tuesday at Lynch Bethel Cemetery for an 11 am graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridgeview Baptist Church Building Fund. You are invited to share your thoughts and memories of A.M. at his memorial website www.mem.com. Arrangements by Weaver Funeral Home.

A lot of great memories and a lot of time spent up on Stamps Lane. Steve,Vicky & Linda, I will very much miss your dad. He was a great father to you and a good friend to everyone who knew him. This is just a temporary seperation, soon we'll all be together in Glory.
P.S. Steve, remember that day you hit that hornets nest in that pine tree behind your house with a rock from a flipper? I never saw anything like that before or since.
