Beverly Hoffman Obituary

Beverly Hoffman

Knoxville, TN

Beverly Jeannette Organ Hoffman left us suddenly on May 6th, 2015, to join her lifetime love and husband, Eugene, in heaven. She worked for over 40 years as an RN and was a faithful parishioner at All Saints Catholic Church. After her retirement, she was known for her beautiful quilts and sewn crafts for family and others, including charities and became a student of music at age 74 and loved playing the organ.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Edward Hoffman; and parents, Morris Hugo Organ and Helen Jeanette Wise. Left to mourn her death, but to also celebrate her wonderful life are children, Linda Hoffman (Larry Galea, MD), Paul Hoffman, Jim (Claudia) Hoffman, Nancy (Dan) Miller, and John (Sarita) Hoffman; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Barnett; sister-in-law Barbara Ann and Rev. William Field; several nieces and nephews; and many long-time friends who filled her heart with joy and who will dearly miss her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Berry Highland West Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to: Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301. Remembering my sister-in-law, Beverly, who always remembered others on birthdays and special occasions. When on her travels, she always took time to choose a lovely gift to bring back to me, and routinely called to see how I was doing. She was a creative and impeccable seamstress and her wonderful quilts are in the homes of many her loved ones. I was a little short in the sibling department having my brother, her husband Gene, as my only sibling. So her thoughtfulness for years after his death meant a lot and I sure miss this connection.

Nancy and family, So sorry for your loss.

Miss Beverly as we always called her was one of our favorite customers at MidSouth Sewing. She enjoyed her sewing and it was always a pleasure to see her come and what beautiful work she had completed. Almost always she was creating a master piece for one of her children or grandchildren whom she adored. She was wonderful and will be missed. Think of her family at this sad time.
