Bill Loy

Maynardville - Bill Loy - age 90 of Maynardville, beloved husband and father, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 22, 2021. He was saved as a young man and was a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church. Bill graduated Horace Maynard High School then joined the Army but was honorably discharged due to a medical condition. He worked for his father-in-law, Kermit Maples at Maples Chevrolet in Harriman for several years. He then worked for JFG Coffee Co. and retired from Roddy Mfg. Co. (Coca-Cola) after 27 years of service. Bill thoroughly enjoyed retirement by fishing, gardening and caring for his cattle and pets. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and humor. He was loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed.

He is preceded in death by wife, Betty Maples Loy; father and mother, Grade and Myrtle (Butcher) Loy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kermit and Alta (Acuff) Maples; sisters, Bernice Coppock and Lou Ella Evans; brothers, John and Ralph; and brother-in-law, Ermal Breeding. Bill is survived by daughter, Debbie and husband Reverend Dwight Brantley; brothers, Wayne and Earl Loy; sister, Sue Breeding; brothers-in-law, Carl Coppock and Swan Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Chinta, Kenny Nicely and all the staff at Caring Medical, to the great staff of Amedysis Hospice Care and Sonia Hill for always being there for our family and caregivers, Angela, Garrett, Michelle and Bonnie. Serving as pallbearers, Junior Loy, Kendall Hill, Steve Coppock, Jeremy Rigsby, Jonathan Rigsby, Chris Maples, Michael Orr and Wayne Middleton; honorary pallbearers, Ray Bowman, Shorty Wynn, Ray Malone, Chester Butler and Jerry Smith.

The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 24, 2021, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Jimmy Davidson officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m., Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Trinity to go in procession to New Loyston Memorial Gardens for a 11:00 a.m., graveside service.
