In 1976, when I was a new reserve officer for KPD, Captain Charlie Thompson was among the handful of 'old school' cops who patiently showed me the ropes of the profession. After my own 40 year LE career, I still remember and respect him. I extend my sincere sympathies to his family.

I worked with Captain Thompson at the Knoxville Police Department in the 1970's. He was my Building Captain in the Records Bureau. He was very professional, but very personable to all his employees and treated everyone just alike. It was a great joy to come to work to have such a wonderful and caring boss like Captain Thompson. Love and prayers to his family in the days, weeks, and months ahead. Enjoy the memories!
