I am so sorry for this extreme loss for Bud, Lori,
Rusty and extended family and friends. Carol was such a wonderful, loving and caring person. My friendship began during the years at Carson Newman, but like so many contact has been loss for too many years. My heart aches for each of her loved ones and they will be in my prayers.

Carol was a beautiful person and enriched so many lives in her church, the schools with her children and her community. Mom (Wilma Berggren) counted Carol among her favorite people and always spoke fondly of her and Bud. Our thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies are with all of you at this most difficult time, but we can take comfort in knowing she is with our Heavenly Father. With our love and prayers,

Coach, Lori and Rusty, the Bales family entered my life 52 years ago. As a 10 year old boy who changed schools from Smithwood to Inskip because of a bus route change, my life took a different route also. A new school with new friends and a new coach, mentor and life-long friend in Coach Bales. Not knowing Carol as well as Coach Bales it was easy to see her strength and love for her family, and community. She loved, cared for, and supported all of us through her strong leadership, authentic love, faith, work, and beautiful smile. The us I refer to here is the entire Knoxville community. She loved us well, we are forever grateful, thank you for sharing. All of the heavenly host are now rejoicing, its not over, just a new season, the one that never ends. May God's love bring you peace and comfort. Blessings to you all.
