Bud was an easy going guy like myself. Easy to relate to. We hung out together with mutual friends now and then. We never had a cross word.

To The Family

I just found out about Mr. Branam's passing and I am so sorry. He taught a drivers education class when I was a student ay West High School. On one occasion it was my time to drive. I pulled up to a stop sign, but pressed the brake a little to hard. Everybody in the car went slightly forward. Mr. Branam gave me a crazy look and ask if I was trying to send him through the windshield. At that point I was petrified. All of a sudden, he laughed and said I was doing fine, but just lighten up on the brake. That day, we found out that Mr. Branam was a "Gentle Giant." There is no doubt, he has left a legacy that his family can be proud of and carry on. My prayers go out to the family and may God continue to keep his loving arms around you.

My thoughts and prayers are with Bud's family. I am very sorry for the loss of a good man. Coach Branam was a favorite of mine. He was my position coach at West High School in 1974 and was also my teacher. As a teacher and coach he always treated me great and praised my toughness. We often ran together on the West track. Many times he would pick me up in his red Rambler as I walked from my home across Sanderson Rd and Liberty St on the way to school or football practice. I will always remember his kindness and special way. Thanks Coach!
God Bless you and your family.

I would like to express my condolences to the family of Bud. I have not seen Bud in several years, but he was a very special person and athlete. I did not know about his sickness and hated to hear this, but God will provide. He served our Knox County School System well over the years and helped many youth at Halls Community Park. Ace Cooper and I plus many other friends had some great times playing basketball together in years past. May God bless you'll as a family and rest Bud's soul.
