Charles Treadway

Leesburg, VA

Charles Elbert Treadway, age 83, of Leesburg, Virginia, formerly, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Memphis, Tennessee, died Friday, March 20, 2015, at Heritage Hall, Leesburg, VA. He was born April 14, 1931, in Conway, Arkansas, to Chester G. Treadway and Rachel Whitten Treadway. Mr. Treadway passed away after a brief illness. He attended Yale University, majoring in Philosophy, followed by graduate work at the University of Tennessee in American History. His path led him into a forty year career in finance. After retiring from First Union Bank in 1998, he and his wife relocated from Jacksonville, FL, to Leesburg, VA, to be near their children and grandchildren. Always the "Southern Gentleman," Mr. Treadway took pride in always putting others before himself.

Mr. Treadway is survived by his wife, Anna Chandler Treadway; son and daughter-in-law, Barry Treadway and Rajni Samavedam, of Rockville, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Scot Kramer, of Ashburn, VA; grandchildren, Kelsey Kramer and Courtney Kramer, of Ashburn, VA; Sam and Devan Treadway, of Rockville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be sent to Capital Caring Hospice at http://www.capitalcaring.org/join-us/donate/. Family and friends will meet 3:00 p.m., Thursday, at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a graveside service. Online condolences may be sent to www.rosemortuary.com. Arrangements provided by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

Charlie and Ann are homeowners in the condominium I managed. Charlie always kept me on my toes and "in-line" as he would say. I will miss him dearly. Prayers to Ann the family.
