Christopher Stamey Obituary

STAMEY, CHRISTOPHER SHANNON - age 39, walked into the Lord's arms on January 9, 2010 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. He was preceded in death by James Burnett Stamey of Burlington, NC. and Rev. Melvin Bradford Brown and Ruth Irene Patton Brown of Ky. Chris proudly graduated Magna Cume Laude from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2003. He was manager of Simoniz Car Wash where he was loved by so many of his customers. Chris never met a stranger and everyone that met him loved him. He is survived by his wife, Kellie; daughters Aubrey, Ashlyn, and Taylor; mother Carolyn Jones; father and "other" mother Ed and Pat Stamey; brothers Michael Stamey and Eric Haun and sister Heather Haun; and also by close friends Stacy Harper, Sean Payne, and Amanda Maples and many other beloved family members. Chris loved his family very much, but had the deepest love for his girls. He was so proud of them and the were definitely "Daddy's girls". A very special thank you from Chris's family to Jamie Bauknight and David Cole for everything they have done for him over the years. Also thanks go to Ruthie Burner for her care and concern for Chris and his family. There will be a celebration of his life on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 6 pm at Powell United Methodist Church, 323 W. Emory Rd., Powell, TN. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to one of Chris's favorite charities, ASPCA.

I never would have imagined that my big brother, the leader of us 4, would have lost his life at such a young age. I am blessed to have many wonderful memories of Chris & the times we spent together as a family. I will miss his witty comments, confident attitude, great sense of humor & terrific smile. He always knew how to work a room! God has added another valuable Angel to the roster. Love you, brother. Your lil sister, Heather

Peace out,

I don't usually glance at the obituaries, but was shocked to see a photo of chris there. I only knew him as the exceptionally friendly guy at the car wash..... and was amazed at how many details he would remember when i came through. i left for grad school for 3 years and when i came back with a different car, he remembered me... i will say that he spoke often of his wife and girls.... amazing the kindness you can appreciate from someone, even if only seeing them a few minutes a week.... again, i am sorry and saddened to see him gone....

Its hard to see Chris leave us on earth, but he's not suffering no more with this terrible thing as Cancer. When I was growing up with Chris, I thought he should of been an comedian. He could always make you laugh, he was special at that. We all have such good memories of Chris and that will keep him close to us. The last time I saw Chris was when he came down to Burlington,NC to see his grandmother before he went to his Dad's. You could tell Chris lost some weight. But he's spirits was still strong, He's attidude was remarkable.

Now Chris is with my pap-pa in Heaven, They will keep each other company. I love and miss you, your cousin Teresa Welch and family.
