Cynthia Scarbrough Obituary

SCARBROUGH, CYNTHIA MIGNON - of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at her home. Mignon was born in Paris, TN on August 26, 1944 and moved to Lenoir City at the age of 6. She was a 1962 graduate of Lenoir City High School. She joined Central United Methodist Church in 1970 where she has been a member for 37 years. Mignon worked for 21 years at BWXT/Y-12 Plant. She was an avid golfer and a loyal Vols fan. Preceded in death by her infant daughter; parents, Oliver and Cynthia Welch; sister, Beverly Mills; brother, Jim Welch; brothers-in-law, Jerry Burch and Joe Webster; and nephew, Peter Welch. Survived by her husband of 44 years, William (Bill) Scarbrough; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Eric Vondy of Eldersburg, MD; son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Gina Scarbrough of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Kayla, Christopher, Karley and Kylee; sister, Brenda Burch; sisters-in-law, Betty Easton and husband, Dewey; Charlotte Webster and Barbara Welch; brother-in-law, Jim Scarbrough and wife, Mary Jo; nephew, Chucky Hartsook and wife, Kristy; niece, Cindra Jones and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Friday and proceed to Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers: Ab, Matt, and Joey Brookshire, Blake and Lucas Jones, Rick and Michael Atkins, and Chucky Hartsook. The family would like to express a very special thank you to Dr. Thomas Morgan and his staff at Thompson Cancer Survival Center in Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ovarian Cancer Research or the Central United Methodist Church Building Fund, 301 Hickory Creek Road, Lenoir City, TN 37772.
