I just realized that Darrell was the person killed as a result of the wreck I came upon shortly after it happened. We were acquainted during my college and we would later chat occasionally on the telephone. He was such a nice person who always had a smile on his face and an upbeat persona. My deepest condolences to his family.

I am so heartbroken. Darrell and I were set to begin a life together when my divorce became final and I moved back to Knoxville. We knew each other in school. He always had the biggest heart and a kind soul. I miss him so very much, and I hate that someone took away the time we had planned on together in just a few months. I feel lost and alone. I know he truly loved his sister and was always there when she was in the hospital. He is going to be so truly missed. I love you, Darrell. I hope to hug you again someday and give a big kiss. Enjoy your life in the arms of Christ. My Love.

Darrell, although we never met on earth I hope to see you in the Lord's home for us when my time arises. I have said many prayers for you since I passed early that morning. Your short life on earth was taken so selfishly and for that I am sorry. May you be at eternal peace and rest and may God's love offer peace to your loved ones.

I was shocked and saddened by Darrell's tragic sudden death, as we all were. The sweet-natured young man from junior high only grew sweeter as the decades passed. I will miss our conversations, and his thoughtful kindness. May the God of all comfort bring peace to all of us who will forever miss and love our precious friend.

I am SO sorry Linda, family and all affected by dear Darrell's passing. I deeply regret that I was unable to attend visitation and burial. Darrell has always been such a kid& caring friend of mine since we were in junior high school. I will greatly miss his phone calls, texts & home visits! We spoke nearly every day. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you all with comfort & peace. Be thankful he's happily reunited with your mom & other loved ones gone before; and, rejoice hat someday he will be there to welcome us home to eternity. Love, in Christ. Tracy Hopson (Joslin)

Darrell was a perfect Southern gentleman with a tender heart for broken things and wounded creatures. His frustration over other peoples' failings was quickly forgiven. He managed the cafeteria at Baptist Hospital and I saw him comfort scores of worried and grieving with his soft voice and encouraging words. I was one of them when my father was terminally ill.
Darrell, you should have been a lawyer. There, I got finally got the last word in on that, Buddy!

I have known Darrell for a number of years now from Sitel. I have not seen him for a couple of months since leaving for Oak Ridge, but was looking forward to bantering about Cowboys/Canes football. He is a true friend and will be sorely missed. I'll miss you my friend. My prayers are with your family. Rest in Peace

Darrell was a good man who was very sweet and nice. He had a wonderful sense of humor and cared about everyone he knew. He got along with everyone. I never saw him mad nor speak a bad word about anyone. I wish there were more people like him the world would be a better place. Rest in peace, I love you brother and I will never forget your sweet kind soul.

Darryl has been very missed at work. He was always one to share a kind word and ask how you were. The world has lost a great friend and comics just won't be the same without being able to go over movies or superheroes with Darryl. I had the honor of having a friend that was a true super hero.

Darrell, and I worked side by side for several years always had a smile and a kind word about his family, he loved to kid and joke. I would see him come into to work and he would say I know I am late but I am here now. He Loved his nephew like he was his own and always talked about his family. I worked with him when his mother died and he was so upset he loved her so much. He did not deserve to die this way. Blessings to the family. Sincerely Linda Flynn
