Dear Mrs. Coughlin, Mark and family,
We were deeply sorry to hear of Doc's passing. In addition to being a great doctor and an inspiring man, he sure knew how to enjoy life and family. The two summers I was fortunate enough to accompany him and the boys on the Tennessee River trips only remind me of his incredible goodwill, his hearty laugh and great smile. He will be missed as a Knoxville Icon.

to this evil disease. My Husband was
in Doc's group at the Wellness Community
and he dearly loved and admired him (as I do) for his quick wit, his courage and his immense fortitude. I extend my deepest sympathies to Ruth and to their wonderful family. I am so sorry I was not able to attend visitation or todays services for Doc was truly a man to be honored.

Ruth, Dr. Coughlin always spoke with of you with such admiration and love of you.May God be with you and your family during this time of loss.
The joke in our family was that Dr. Coughlin spent my parents honeymoon with them in 1964. I admired him so much because he always treated his patients like family. He took care of my mother until her death in 1991 and even thought enough to come to her funeral.
