My first memories of Fern are from church where she was my Sunday School teacher. She loved her church and her Gibbs community. I remember my Mom telling me that Fern and her husband gave the land for the Gibbs High football field. Fern was an intelligent and civic minded educator, and a steadfast Christian lady. My sincere sympathies to her family. May your fondest memories and God's grace give you comfort.

Much love and sympathy to the whole family. Fern was a wonderful lady and I enjoyed knowing her. She and both of her sisters were kind, knowledgeable and interesting. I had Ms. Emma Dunn in 5th grade and 8th grade at Gibbs and was glad for the history she taught me. Fern was a good educator too and brought so much to Washington Presbyterian as a member.

Miss Fern was indeed a classy lady. I knew her as an educator and as church family at Washington Presbyterian Church. I admired and loved her very much. She will be missed but forever in my memory. Jerry and I send our heartfelt condolences to all her family.
