Fionnuala Florida Obituary
Knoxville - Fionnuala Mary Duignan Florida joined her beloved husband and other family members in heaven on June 2, 2021 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was of the Catholic faith. She was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and came to the United States as a child. Known as Finn to family and friends, she was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. Fionnuala was preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Florida, parents, Henry Francis Duignan and Catherine Elizabeth Connolly Duignan, brother Henry Stephen Duignan, and sister, Caroline Mary Duignan Vermillion. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Florida, brothers Francis Duignan (Cindy Cantrell) and Tim Duignan (Nancy Ploof), brother and sister-in-law Rob and Linda Florida Brown and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley or your local animal shelter in Fionnuala's memory.

I was so sad to come across this. My name is Fionnuala Mary (formerly McHugh) and I remember her parents Harry and Kathleen very well from my childhood. I loved visiting them when their babies were born - I was probably a torture. I tried to get an address when my father died - but failed. My heart goes out to the rest of the family.

Words can't express the loss not only I but everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Finn . She was very carasmatic. We laughed and cried together went on many adventures with our children. She would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. I miss her stories and that infectious laugh. You were one of a kind sweet friend I will miss you greatly.

I had the opportunity to meet Finn recently. In my initial meeting, Finn's love and commitment to her daughter, love of her animals, green thumb, and her gift of hospitality were obvious. Keeping Mary and Finn's family in our thoughts and prayers. --The Fessenden Family
