I was saddened to read about the passing of Fred. We met several years ago while attending the USAR Command and General Staff Officer course in the evenings at the Knoxville Reserve Center. I was always impressed with his patriotism and professionalism. Go with God.

My daddy served under Fred at the 134th. I always thought what a wonderful leader he was. He and Carolyn always making sure that there was a family support group when they were deployed for Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Joy helped my husband and I when she was first starting her business create our wedding invitations and programs. Fred's caring, thoughtfulness and other traits have certainly carried over into Joy. Anytime I was in her store I would always make sure to ask how he was doing. I am very saddened to hear of his passing and feel sorrow for his family. He will forever be engrained in my memory as such an extraordinary person that loved his family and life. With Love, Euretta Montano Gann

My most sincere condolences to the Forster family on the loss of their dear husband and father, Fred. Fred was a soldier, leader and downright good country gentleman. I was HONORED to get to know him through business connections and blessed to call him friend. God Bless you all and may you find peace and joy in your many happy memories. Linda Adkins Ponce

I am saddened to learn of Fred's death. My mother was a dear friend of his mother, Harriet. Fred was always thoughtful, kind, and wise. The entire Forster family continues in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

I was fortunate to serve as his first sergeant when he commanded the 134th ARW....Major General Forester was a real mentor...had more "John Wayne" in him than I did.....great public speaker and effective Chamber head....a great link to Sewanee.....he will be greatly missed......
