Gary Lindsey Obituary

LINDSEY, GARY SCOTT - age 22 of Maryville passed away after a boating accident on Tellico Lake. He was a member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church and a 2005 graduate of Maryville High School. Gary's passion was the sport of competitive Bass Fishing and deer hunting. He spent countless hours on area lakes, in the woods, and at Johnny's Outboard doing what he truly loved. He is survived by his parents, Ed and Janet Lindsey of Maryville; grandparents, Ron and Dora Bowman of Maryville, Grady Lindsey and wife Nadine of Englewood, and Alma Lindsey of Townsend; great-grandmother, Ila Whitehead; aunts and uncles, Rhonda and Jon Bauer, Laura Myers, Lynn and Loretta Lindsey, Debbie Cochran, and Kim and David Shands; special cousins, Kristi, Amanda, Brian, Drew, Loren, Kaylee, Dustin, and Austin; best friend, Jacob Hearon. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Ellenburg officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to any of the volunteer organizations that aided in the search and recovery for Gary. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church. Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000, www.smithmortuary.com.

I knew Gary from jtv, I worked in ibm,the cleaning dept. He would always play around with us and hide our cleaning carts. He was a wonderful man, and we will all miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
