Knoxville - Gary Tyrone Nolan, Sr., 68, swiftly entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
Preceded in death by his son, Gary Nolan Jr.; father, Arthur Nolan; mother, Callie Nolen and siblings, Linda Cherry, Beverly, Glenda, Jessie, Michael and Marvin Nolan.
Left to cherish his memory: wife, Esha Nolan, son, DeMarcus (Angela) Nolan; stepchildren, Ayauna Blair, Taneka Domio, Travis Donaldson, Erick McNair and niece/daughter, Malaya Nolan; grandchildren, Kanesha, DeMarcus Nolan Jr, Taniyah, Marnasia, Daelon, Gabriel and Aadon; great grandchildren, Jamiah, Raniya and Gary Nolan III; siblings, Cheryl Bennett, Samuel MacArthur (Monnie) Nolan, Janice (Daryl) Mazon, Jeffrey Nolan, Mark (Shanice) Nolan, Karen (Garrett) Middlebrook, LaJuan (Marion) Gray, Shermatha (Jamahal) Redmond, Tammy, Scott and Dewayne Nolan, Sherry (Jimmy) Payne; devoted nephew, Jeron Nolan; devoted friends, John Newton and Sandra Tate and a host of other family and friends too numerous to name.
Tuesday, March 2, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Payne Avenue Baptist Church, 2714 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A private service will follow for immediate family and close friends. Bishop Zack Flack is the eulogist. The interment is scheduled for a later date. At that time, we will remain in compliance with the Governor's Executive Order No. 17 (COVID-19).

To the Family of Gary Nolan, Our thoughts and prayers are re with you during this difficult time. When my Dad (Deacon Martin) passed around this time last year and we asked Gary to be a pallbearer and he said yes with no hesitation. He always greeted you with a smile when we came to Church of God. I know Sister Callie was so proud of him being the strong leader of the Nolan Family. He will be truly missed. Praying God wraps His arms around your family and give you comfort!

Gary will be remembered as a man with a golden heart. He was kind to everyone and showed respect to everyone. He was a great cook and always cherish any cooking items he received. Gary will be surely missed.

Gary was a strong back bone in the Nolan family as well as Leader in his church. To his siblings and family, remember the charge that Brother Gary left with you at Ms. Callie's beautiful homegoing celebration, as he called you each by name, adding humor when Gary concluded the charge and said and spoiled Shermatha. Dear Gary left you with a charge to walk with Jesus as your Lord and Personal Savior. Just as Gary and our Beloved Mrs. Callie walked with Christ they were pillars of strength, may their legacy encourage you all in your heart during this difficult time.
