James Hepler Obituary

HEPLER, JAMES EDWARD (EDDIE) - age 60 of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2006. He was a retired Mailroom Supervisor at the University of Tennessee, retiring after 30 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan and gun collector. Eddie was preceded in death by: his mother, Anna Lee Knight and father, Charles Hepler. He is survived by: his aunt, Zelda Church Culveyhouse of Maryville and several cousins. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Pastor Rami Cassis officiating. The family and friends will meet at Grassy Valley Baptist Church Cemetery Saturday, for a 1:00 p.m. interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. www.rosemortuary.com.

Eddie Hepler played a very important role in the programs of the UT Institute of Agriculture. He was a very pleasant and helpful person to work with.

My first "real job" was working under the guidance of Eddie Hepler in the mail room. I worked there from 1982 - 1985 while attending UT. I had so much fun working there. I was sad to hear of his passing.
