James Douglas McClure "Doug" age 38 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017. Doug graduated from Heritage High School 1997. He joined the Army after high school serving our country overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. He worked at AT&T for 17 years. Doug enjoyed spending time with family and friends, vacationing in new places, cooking and especially precious moments spent with Sarah and Greyson. He is preceded in death by his father Jim McClure; grandparents Frank & Grace McClure and Oliver and Blanche Cardin. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years Sarah McClure; son, Greyson; mother, Patricia McClure; sister and brother in-law, Jennifer & Sergio Martinez; in-laws Jerry Upchurch and Kathy Helsley Dunlap and multiple aunts and nieces. Family will receive friends Monday, October 23, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, with a funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm. Family and friends will meet at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Highway, on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm for an interment service. Doug was such a wonderful caring person. He had just begun to live his life with a wife and a beautiful son. He truly loved his family and his friends. He will be your family's guardian angel watching over you. He sacrificed to serve our country overseas. Keep his memories close to your heart. May God comfort the family during this loss.
