JAMES WOODY Obituary

WOODY, JAMES ALLEN "WOODY" - age 42, of Madisonville, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 7, 2013. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as an electrician for 14 years. Jimmy enjoyed playing golf, softball and football and was an avid Tennessee Vols fan. Number 67 shined at Lenoir City High School in 1991. His love and devotion was Break The Chains Pit Bull Rescue. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Viola Woody; half brother, Malcolm Woody; grandparents, Freeman and Marie Helton, and Ruby Thurmer; father-in-law, Tommy Thurmer; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Ward and John Mark Thurmer. Survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Leslie Thurmer; two beloved dogs, Rufus and Scamp; brothers, Gordon Woody and Junior Woody of Knoxville; sisters, Kathy Ward, Patty Ward, Virginia Miller and husband, Don all of Lenoir City; nephews, Ronnie Ward, Jr., James Dewayne Woody, Gordon Narmore, Thomas Ward, Chris Ward, Steven Woody all of Lenoir City; nieces, Pam Tredway, Tonya Scarbrough, Rachel Price, Jennifer Davis, Sarah Swalley, and Brittany Buffkin all of Lenoir City; several great nieces and great nephews that he loved. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. George Seay officiating. Interment will be private. Donations may be made to Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City or a Jimmy Woody Benefit fund has been set up at Tennessee State Bank 11470 Parkside Drive, Knoxville, TN 37934 (865-288-5040, or www.gofundme.com/Jimmy-Woody-Funeral to help with expenses.
