Janice S. Lamson, age 74, a long-time resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at UT Medical Center.
Born on February 15, l 943 in Pittsville, Illinois, she is preceded in death by her father and stepfather. Janice came to Knoxville in September of 1971, where she was one of the first members of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church. A graduate of the University of Tennessee class of 1985, she proudly paved her own path in Knoxville, and retired from the Tennessee Department of Human Services in 2010 after 25 years of service.
A loving mother and caring grandmother, Janice is survived by her sons, David, Charles, and Todd Lamson; grandchildren, Britt Lamson, Hailey Lamson, Justin Lamson, and Ashley Warren, the mother of her two great grandchildren; her loving and caring mother; brother and two sisters.
A Celebration of Janice's Life will be held at Church of the Good Samaritan, on Wednesday July 19, 2017 at 4:00p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Janice's memory to gofundme.com for her son, Todd Lamson, or Church of the Good Samaritan, 425 North Cedar Bluff Road, Knoxville, TN 37923, or Webb School of Knoxville, Attn: Office of Development, 9800 Webb School Drive, Knoxville, TN 37923.
