JEANETTE M. KERSHAW

KERSHAW, JEANETTE M. - of Knoxville, TN, departed after 98 years of a good life on October 24, 2014 at Tennova Healthcare. She was a patient at NHC Healthcare. She was a long time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and later a charter member of St. John Baptist. She was a class of 1934 graduate of Austin High School and a retired nurse. She was preceded in death by mother Mammie Kershaw; brothers Earnest and Ralph Kershaw; sister Sarah K. Gamble; and great granddaughter Esha Hoffman. Survivors include children Marion Brown, Peggy Thomas, Charles Kershaw and wife Shirley, and Faye Hoffman; grandchildren Jacquline McCray, Keishia Hoffman, Kevin Hoffman, Gary Kershaw, April Garner, Delyndra Thomas, Ramaan Thomas, and Bishop Wilmer Thomas; as well as 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The family will receive friends 11:00 am-12:00 pm Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Rogers Memorial Baptist Church, 520 College Street. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Rev. Michel S. E. Caldwell Pastor and Bishop W. James Thomas II will be giving the eulogy. Interment will be at New Gray Cemetery. The service will conclude with a white dove release.
