Jeremy was an inquisitive child. At 2 he took apart his Bigwheel tricycle. But he couldn't figure out how to re-assemble the darn thing. He was ALWAYS asking questions. This trait would eventually lead him into the field of physics. While in 3rd grade, his parents were told he could not keep up with his classmates. He was slow. Well so much for that. He excelled in math in Jr. High. He graduated from Gulfport High Gulfport, Ms. with honors and being recognized as the top student athlete (football). He received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. He then worked at the Lawrence Livermore facility in California. His studies took him to Fisk University, the University of Iowa and Princeton University. He would receive his Doctorate in Physics from Florida A&M. Jeremy loved family. He loved his friends and if you were among those he called friend you know you had a friend for life. Jeremy was published several times. In his short life He was a mentor, worked with troubled teens and church youth. He was most giving while seeking nothing in return At the time of his death, he remained the only doctoral candidate to complete his studies with a 4.0 average in the history of Florida A&M's program. Yes, he was humble too. He loved to travel and would do so whenever possible. Jeremy leaves to mourn his passing his wife Bridgette, children Brittany and Anthony, mother Gloria A. Jackson, father Joseph Jackson,3rd and his "Jewel", sister Angel T. Jackson and his beloved cousins and aunts and numerous friends. Jeremy will be missed but never forgotten.

Joey, although I never had the pleasure of meeting Jeremy, my heart breaks for you. He seemed to be a fine young man. His years were few but his accomplishments were many. May all of the memories and good times you shared bring you comfort. Your "baby cuz", Tam

Hi Jeremy,
This is your mom. I tried calling you the last few days. However people are telling me you left this place. I didn't want to believe it, but I know you are with grandma, grandpa and uncle Dub. Tell them I said hello and I miss them as much as I'm going to miss you.
I've heard kind words from your friends and professors about you. I'm so proud of you. Most importantly, I know that you loved the Lord and accepted Christ as your savior. I thank God for your salvation.
Well, I'll be talking to you soon. In the
meantime tell your angels to watch over me. See you soon.
Missing you,

When I was told that Jeremy had passed away I felt as though one of my own was gone. I called him my son. He was such a delight to be around. He enjoyed life. He loved his job and his coworkers. It's like we are all family at work and now one is missing. It will never be the same. We don't understand why God took Jeremy at such a young age. One thing I know is that God doesn't make mistakes. I know he chose Jeremy to help make his bouquet complete. One day we will get to see him again. My condolences to his family and friends.

Jeremy was an important part of our company, a mentor and a leader. His passion for the product development and commercialization activities were a great example to all of us and his competence and work ethic leave a void. Mostly we will miss the good person, good friend and nice man that he was. Our condolences to his family and other friends. He is missed already.

To Jeremy's wife, family, and close friends…
You have my deepest condolences on his passing. I met Jeremy years ago at Southern University. As I reflect on the times we all shared in the Physics Dept and on campus, I can't help but to smile from those memories.
Even though I hadn't talked to “Triple J” in years; I remember “Roebuck” truly being an all around GREAT GUY. From the comments I'm reading in the guestbook, I see this description of Jeremy stood true throughout the years. May God bless all of you and give you comfort.
Jeremy… Rest in Peace my friend.

I only wish i could put into words how much this MAN meant to me. I can only be thankful that GOD sent Jeremy my direction because he was an angel sent to me because I prayed for one. I asked the Lord to put a mentor in my life because I wanted to be smarter and a more dedicated student to understanding how things work.. Yes I could have googled it, but I wanted to get intimate with it.. God sent me Jeremy and he was a blessing I cannot describe. Jeremy was sent my direction for that reason and I swear to the day I leave this earth I will honor him with what he taught me daily. I worked with Jeremy in a field of scientist and engineers.. I was so intimidated when I saw him, and because he was a PhD Scientist I knew he was on his game. Most scientist I met where not approachable to say the least, but this guy is what I needed... I understood him, he never said I was an idiot and only helped me build on my weak points.. He dialed into me and never critized me, only cared that I understood..
I want to personally thank this mans parents because you raised one special kid, a role model for all and an angel for me.. So to my friend Jeremy and his family my most heart felt sympathy.. and to Jeremy I will see you again sir, and I will live your legacy with my kids and there kids.. You are my friend, angel and role model for all aspiring students of the science field. Thank You and God Bless

To Angel, Uncle Joe and Gloria, my prayers nightly have been devoted to you. Jeremy was a great son, big brother and friend. He was my mentor at Southern University and gave me the political strategy to become student body president. When we were kids growing up in Gulfport, he was one of the few who didn't laugh at me back in the day when my Saints were always losing. He was also Angel's guardian angel at all times and was always there for his sister. JJJ has touched so many lives and I'm glad that mine was one of them.

I am so sorry that the Lord has seen fit to call Jeremy so soon. He had such a jovial and warm spirit, and was a great classmate (SU/Timbuktu) and colleague (LLNL). He was the fun, joking guy that you would want to study Physics with. I am sending my sincerest and deepest condolences to his family for their loss.

Doc, there are sooo many things that I want to say but it would take me 39 yrs. to say them all. I was going to write some things down but I decided to speak from the top of my head and the bottom of my aching heart. The first time you were placed in my arms, my life changed forever. As a Navy builder, I was used to working with blueprints and such. But you came with no directions and I wasn't sure if I was capable of the task God had given me. So, I went to work and prayed that I'd get it right and I did the best I could. I must have done something right because you were a helluva son and an even finer man. NO dad as ever been as proud. You and Baby Girl are the greatest gifts I've ever been given. You two never gave a moment of grief or trouble, NEVER!! I did the best I could because two DESERVED my best. If there was such a place as The Son Store, I could not have left with a better product. I hope I was worthy. I also hope, and only you know, if you were as proud of me as a dad as I was of you as a son. So with tear filled eyes and a VERY broken heart, I'll simply say be seein' ya much, much beloved son. I tried to give you roots in a good family and wings to fly when it was time for you to leave the nest. Well' you have to leave me again. Take your new wings and SOAR! Fly my son and rise above it all. Oh so much more to say! Love, Poppitto To be continued...,

It was more than devastating to hear the passing of one of my best and lifelong friends!!! There's no doubt that Jeremy will be terribly missed. I pray that GOD will continue to strengthen each of you (us) in the days, months, and years to come. Remember, GOD has made no mistake and its important that we reflect on the good times and send Jeremy home in a positive light. Time heals ALL wounds and there's always positive things to come out of life's tragedies. Again, I'm sorry for your loss and I pray that my words, and the words of others, offer some sense of hope, comfort, and reassurance that Jeremy's spirit will continue to impact each one of us in some form or fashion for a lifetime.
