John Anderson Ayres, III, passed away at the age of 63 on October 24, 2015. John's great-grandfather, Brown Ayres, served as the President of the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. John earned his BS degrees in Accounting and History from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Anderson Ayres, Jr. and Frances Ayres Nelson; brother, William C. Ayres; grandparents, Dr. Virgil and Maggie Crowder, and Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson Ayres, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Priscilla Ayres; his son, Steven Ayres; brother-in-law, Robert Powers; and several other extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Click Funeral Home and Cremations, 9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37923. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Young Williams Animal Shelter, 3201 Division St, Knoxville, TN 37919 (865) 215-6599. Condolences may be left for the family at www.clickfh.com.

My heart goes out to the Ayres family. Like Jesus you will also cry over the loss of your love one (John 11:35). Like Jesus also trust God and believe in his power over death (John 11:42).
