Joseph Benjamin Bohannon, was born on November 4, 1933 in Crab Orchard, Tennessee and passed away on November 10, 2016 at the age of 83. J.B. served in the U.S. Army in the late 1950s. He was a skilled builder, carpenter, and cabinet maker during his professional life. He began working at W.H. Swing lumber company in Westel, Tennessee. He moved to Virginia in the mid-1960s and was the owner and operator of several businesses during his working career. Outside of work he was an automobile enthusiast and enjoyed driving up until his death.
His parents, Pearl Anne and Bud Bohannon; and three brothers preceded him in death. He was married to Maxine Swing Bohannon, who also preceded him in death. He is survived by his two sons, Benjamin Dale Bohannon, of Arlington, Virginia and Joseph Brent Bohannon, of Fairfax, Virginia; two grandsons, Paul Dale Bohannon and Jonathan William Bohannon; and daughter-in-law, Billie Bohannon.
Arrangements are as follows: funeral services are scheduled Monday, November 14, 2016, at 12:00 Noon, at Evans mortuary, 805 N. Gateway Ave., Rockwood, Tennessee. Visitation with family and friends will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Mortuary prior to the service. Memorial service begins at 12:00 Noon, with internment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, in Rockwood; TN. Evans Mortuary is serving the Family of Mr. Joseph Benjamin Bohannon.
