We knew Mr. Carr though our church, Wallace Memorial. He was a special person and we feel honored to have known him. We always looked for him in the choir and had the opportunity to talk with him at church. He loved his church and family and spoke highly of them. Wonderful Christian influence on everyone he came in contact with. Know the children were glad to call him "Dad." We extend our sympathy to the family.

What a dear sweet man he was. I will miss not seeing him sing in the choir. But I know that he is singing in heavens choir with his old friend James. Till we meet again. Prayers for his family.

It is with regret that I will not be able to attend the service Saturday night to honor one of the finest men I ever knew. I'm sorry that I will be out of town and if there were any way I could change my plans, it would be for Joe. I truly love this family and have many fond memories including Joe taking me to church in his old blue Dodge Lancer car; even if I did slide out the door and drag on the ground one Sunday morning. We still got there though, ripped suit and all. Great times, great next door neighbors and priceless memories. Love you Joe! Your friend --Daryl (Ace) Cole

I have fond memories of Joe, Nell and their children growing up as his much younger cousin. Joe was a positive role model for me and many others. Shirley and I are sad but also rejoicing that he is in a better place with our Lord.

Joe will truly be missed by the Wallace Memorial family. He was seen most every Sunday in our choir-always smiling with something pleasant to say.I was a friend to his wife, Nell. I met his daughter, Joann, about a month ago. He was sitting on the back row at Wallace with his family. As I passed by, he put out his hand, pulled me over and said, "Joann, meet Joann."
He was so proud of his family. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you. I know the Lord's presence will surround you and bring you peace.

I wish I could be there to honor Joe on Saturday. I will be in Atlanta with Haleigh at that time. Joe was such a special person and I am honored to have known him. As my parents decon, we would visit with my dad during his illnesses and recoveries. He would just drop by to talk for a while. I know it meant so much to both my parents. I never did see him that I didn't get a hug. He made everyone feel so important. It has been said many times but in this case it us most definitely true, "our loss is heaven's gain". I look forward to the day I see him again and get another hug.
