Kara, who barely knew me but for one instance that might have seemed insignificant, had helped me when no one else would. I can only hope that whenever we remember her, we do not cry for her, but cry for our loss of such a treasure in this life. We miss you Kara

You will forever be missed. The smile you would always give Hailey, Austin, and I from across the room when we never understood anything in French, and then our wonderful stories at lunch. I'll never forget them. Thanks for always being a wonderful smiling friend I could see every day and share memories and happy moments with. We love you and will always miss you. Prayers and love go to your family, and the recovery of Erika. Miss you best friend!!

I miss Kara so much! Schepens family, you are all so brave. I admire your courage. The funeral tonight was gorgeous, as was the memorial. Kara looked absolutely beautiful tonight. Kara was an amazing person. I only had one class with her freshman year but she made an almost intolerable class one of the best. She was always smiling and telling funny stories or singing. I will miss her and am praying for you all. I am so glad that she knew Jesus!

We will all miss Kara, she was a beautiful and accepting girl. She didnt have to know you to make you feel like you knew her, because of that gorgeous smile. She was a kind person and i never ever saw her being mean to anyone. Her death is a very sad thing, but we will all remember her in a good way. She is in heaven now, and we will all be with her someday... WE LOVE YOU KARA!!!!!

You are missed sweeheart more than your will ever know. The last time we had seen you at mid- night mass that last Christmas will be inbedded in our hearts forever. We never in a million years would have imagine that would be the last time we would see you and our life has forever changed. You were one of a kind baby girl and we were honored to have you as our niece. Whenever we are sad, stressed or in a bind we will just remember what would Kara do and that would be.. live life to the fullest, be silly ,have fun smile at a stranger, play with a child, hug your mom, dad and sister as you were always a little cuddle bug . We are praying for you during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of meeting Kara at the YMCA. She was such a sweet young girl. My son had a hard time going into child care each time but Kara was always there to welcome him with a smile and with open arms. She would pick him up and hold him until he calmed down. My prayers are with your family. Seems this beautiful girl was very lucky to have such a wonderful family & you were very lucky to have her. I know it was an obituary but the wording was so touching. It sounds like a celebration of her life and her telling others to celebrate their lives. I hope it may give you comfort that the words you have used for your daughter/sister have touched my heart. I haven't been living life to the fullest. I will take Kara's advice and begin to do so.
