Kemper and I were friends, albeit seperated by 400 miles. I recently sent him a federal case, and he handled it with the flair of a freshman lawyer, and the wit of a genteel Southern gentleman. Kemper was, at all times, Kemper, every day, everytime. We are saddened by his passing and untimely death.

Dear Lillian: I'm so sorry to hear of Kemper's passing. I remember such good times with both of you, especially during the production of "Joseph" at Calvary and the Playhouse. I still have my t-shirt from your party. Your kindnesses were many. Much love to you and your sons.

Lillian
I remember times at Calvary that when I was in some sort of distress. known to the congregation, Kemper made sure to speak to me and give me gentle and soothing words of wisdom. His caring was a gift that I won't soon forget. What a phenomenal couple you two made. I missed you both when you left Calvary. I will make sure to pass on a kindness to someone in his memory.

Mr. Durand was one of the finest attorney's I ever had the pleasure to work with. He was always well prepared, and meticulous, in his research of a particular case.
Even though we may have worked at opposing ends of some of these cases, we always maintained a feeling of appreciation, admiration, and respect for one another. We never began or departed one another, without a firm and friendly handshake. He was a consumate professional and gentleman.
If you want to find a person who really did want to make a positive difference for his clients and humanity...you need look no further beyond Mr. Durand.
He truly believed in the goodness of human beings, and giving the underdog a square shake.
No one could ask for better qualities in a man.
