LILLARD R. ALLEN

ALLEN, LILLARD R. - age 86 of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014. He was a deacon of Jones Chapel Baptist Church and was employed by the Sevier County Highway Department for 30 years and America Enka for 20 years. He served on the Sevier County Commission for twelve years, and also served Farmers Mutual Insurance Company as President for thirteen years and as a member of the Board of Directors for 43 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Helen Barker Allen; son, Gale Allen; parents, Sidon Paul and Leona Haynes Allen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Oda Jane Barker; brother-in-law, Carl Hatcher; nephew, Sam Rolen; sisters-in-law, Deanna Barker, Blanche Williams, and Wanda Barker. Survivors include his: son, Larry Allen and wife Betty; daughters, Brenda Allen Hembree, Barbara Allen Roberts and husband Daryl; daughter-in-law, Debbie Allen; grandchildren, Chad Allen, Amanda Allen (Willis) Hill, Heather (Matt) Hembree Smith, Krystal Hembree and Chad Ludin, Whitney Allen (Charlie) Hodges, William (Sarah) Allen, McKenzie Roberts, Mollie Roberts, Beth (Pete) Dziubla, Holly (Ernie) Brooks, Christina Stanfill; eighteen great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard Barker, Jr., Paul Barker and wife Eva, Bob Barker and wife Ronnie; sisters and brother-in-law: Lucille Hatcher, Wanda Henderson and husband, Ray C.; caregiver: Sonja Hayes; host of special nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jones Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, 797 Flat Creek Road, Sevierville, TN 37876, ATTN: Troy Manning. The family will receive friends 2:00-4:45 PM Saturday with funeral service to follow at 5:00 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Kent Loveday officiating.
