Thomas Barron Obituary

BARRON Thomas A. ""POPS'' Barron, on Friday, May 13, 2005 at 11:47 AM. age 80 years. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA, recently residing in Mandeville, LA. Retired Letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and who proudly served in the US Army during World War II. Pops was a dedicated N.O.R.D. coach for over 40 years. A long time coach at Digby playground and also coached at Kenilworth, DeBenedetto and Goretti Playgrounds. Also volunteered at Immaculate Heart of Mary School as a coach and many of his teams won city championships in girls softball, basketball and volleyball, he also coached boys baseball and football. Beloved husband of Adele Scandariato Barron for 59 years. Father of Thomas A. Barron, Jr., Sandra Barron Magallanes, Dan E. Barron and Karen Barron Patrolia. Brother of Jack S. Barron and the late Elizabeth Barron Marsalles. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Relatives, friends and his friends at the Fairgrounds are invited to attend the Funeral Services at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5200 Canal Blvd. (adjacent to Greenwood Cemetery) on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation on Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Tuesday from 8:30 AM until service time.

Uncle Tommy will always have a special place in my heart. Our loss can not be measured in the sorrow we all feel but in the many lives he touched with his honor, grace and care. We will miss him all ways.
