Marillyn Adams was a true treasure. We knew her as aunt Marillyn as she was our mom's (Vera Green) best friend. Over the years we shared many laughs, and some tears, but mainly laughs. We will never forget all the times she came to visit us, or the times we spent visiting her in Tennessee. The friendly teasing and the story telling that went on will always be engrained in our minds. But what we will remember most of all was her steadfast love of God and her never waning commitment to bring his message to all who would come to hear. She will be missed greatly, but we celebrate that fact that she is now with God and has been reunited in heaven with those believers who have passed before her.

Marilyn Adams, was a precious lady. I relish the fond memories of Ms. Marilyn and her coworker, Ms Vera Greene. Her flannel board stories were a welcoming event for the students. She dedicated her life to bringing the Biblical principles to life. She desired to make a difference in the lives of as many children as possible. I was honored to know her as I was growing up. Although, she was quite elderly, when she began to work with students at Midway, I would stand in awe , that she remembered me. Me, a child to familiar with poverty being reared in the hills of Tennessee; yet she remembered and spoke of coming to the small school I attended ( Brown School). She told me that she was thankful to know that a child from that tiny school, would one day become a teacher.
A few years ago, while eating dinner at the Pizza Inn, my husband and I were honored to buy dinner for the " Bible Lady" and her guest. I felt as though we were offering a cup of water to one of the many Bible characters she often described on her flannel boards. Her love and dedication to teaching children will be etched on the tablets of my heart. I have admired her work and her humble spirit. My heart rejoices when I try to imagine her first day in Heaven. My fondest memories when I was young are the times she would come to HY Livesay middle school telling bible stories with her felt board and felt bible characters .

Growing up in the hills if Tennessee, was not always easy. This precious lady, Marilyn Adams, was a. Godsend to our the little Brown School. Community. I relished the times that Miss Marilyn and Vera Greene would describe the truth within the Bible by creating flannel board stories. These stories, helped to make the lives of David, Moses, Abraham and others come to life.
I can only imagine the sacrifices, that, was made by this true saint of. God. I will be forever grateful, that, I can proudly state " I knew and loved the " Bible Lady".
Miss Marilyn was definitely a soldier in the " army of The Lord", thus, it was fitting that , she enter the gates of Heaven on Veteran's Day!!!!

I praise God for your life's work which you so willingly gave to Him. As a child I was blessed by your ministry in a little two-classroom school called Plainview, in Union County of TN. God saved me in 1964, and you were a part of my early life teaching me about Him.
