RUDOLPH, DR. MARVA ODESSA LANE - 64, February 21, 1949 - February 6, 2014. Dr. Rudolph was a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and was a graduate of Riverside High School class of 1967. She received a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from Knoxville College in 1971, a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1975, and Doctorate of Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2007. Dr. Rudolph was the Associate Vice Chancellor and Director of Equity & Diversity of the University of Tennessee. She was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. since 1996. Dr. Rudolph is survived by her husband Johnnie Rudolph; her son John Marcus Rudolph of Knoxville and her daughter Janna Michelle Rudolph of Santa Cruz, California; her brother Larry Lane of Chattanooga, TN; and sister Mildred McKibbens of Richmond VA. Preceded in death by brother Richard Lane; father Major Marvin Lane; mother Evelyn Jones Lane; grandmother Minnie Lawrence; and grandmother Lela Robinson. She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, February 15, at the Black Cultural Center located at 1800 Melrose Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37996 on the University of Tennessee Campus from 3:00-5:00 pm.
